Smoktech SID VV/VW MOD

Just found a few minutes to put up a quick review of this MOD.

First impressions were nice look and feel, easy to hold, installed battery, Panasonic CGR18650CH, it will also take the AW IMR batteries. I am getting 2 days use on one Panasonic battery.

I noticed that with the battery installed this MOD would be about 50% of the weight of the Vamo chrome body with the same battery.

Display is clear and easy to read 2 seconds between switching, it is very easy to get used too and easy on the eyes. After you have the MOD set up you can even turn off the LCD.

I have the black and the red SID they are a textured finish a little like the rubberized black EGO batteries so no slipping through the fingers. I have used the Vivi Nova 3.5ml tank and the Pro Tank on these and am very impressed with it performance to date. Both tanks fit very well on the MOD. (EGO and 510 fitting).

It has the same functions as the Vamo, VV VW resistance battery etc.

It is about the same size as the Vamo in height with the 18650 battery. Unlike the Vamo you cannot use any other size battery 18650 is it!

For the cost it is a very nice looking Mod if the VAMO has put you off with its weight or you are looking for something a little more stylish this could be the one for you.

Only negative I can give this was the threads on the battery tube were very dry and hard to turn when they arrived, after a little oil on the threads that was easily solved.

Rob sells this MOD, I think he only has the chrome finish available at this time.

Re: Smoktech SID VV/VW MOD

I am happy with the size and weight of this MOD, thanks for the info.

I gave mine a good look and as far as I can see, I would be breaking the seal on the tube, to get any other battery tube fixed on and this would void my warranty, so will leave that until a later date if I feel like playing around.

Re: Smoktech SID VV/VW MOD

I still use this every day allan82. It's still my go to Mod for everyday use.

I do use other Mods depending what I am doing Mechs for rebuildables etc.

I was a Vamo user before I got this, it is half the weight of a Vamo.

I own two currently. I like mine so much I was looking at getting another one in white

Re: Smoktech SID VV/VW MOD

Thanks Yves,

This MOD will be replacing the Vamo V2 as our entry Naked Advanced MOD kit. Just waiting on all of the components to arrive + manuals to be produced.

Cheers Rob
